Thermostats
- The optimum method of providing control is to use a devireg™ Thermostat. A wide range of devireg™ Thermostats and sensors are available. For the most appropriate choice of a devireg™ Thermostat contact DEVI or your local representative.
- When heating is installed under timber floors a devireg™ Combination Thermostat must be used. It combines an air sensor with a floor sensor/temperature limiter and ensures that the temperature rise of the floor can be limited to an optimum foot comfort surface temperature of 26˚C.
- For the correct installation and connection of thermostats and floor sensors, refer to the devireg™ Installation Instructions supplied with the thermostats.
Note:
- devireg™ 130 and devireg™ 530 Thermostats may be installed in locations such as cupboards or vanity units as they measure floor temperature only

- A seperate 12-20mm conduit, (sealed at both ends - refer to Conduit Installation Instructions), should be installed in the concrete floor to contain the sensor probe and wiring to the thermostat.
It must be sealed at the floor end to prevent the ingress of concrete and at the top end to prevent the ingress of water prior to the sensor installation.
The conduit should be located centrally between the cable runs, approximately 1-2 metres from the walls, depending on the size of the room.
The wall end of the conduit must always remain accessible to enable the replacement of the sensor probe if required.
- In addition to the sensor conduits, suitably sized conduits should be installed to take the cold tails across to the wall where the thermostat is to be located.
Caution:
- To avoid damage to the floor the deviheat™ floor heating system should not be switched on for at least 8 weeks after the concrete has been poured or 6 weeks after in screed/under tile installations. Always refer to manufacturer's recommendations.
- After the floor has been allowed to dry out naturally, the heating cables should then be switched on for a few hours each day, working up to the full load in 8 to 10 days.
